Welcome to our blog! No...I am not a pirate with a parrot. My name is Cody, and I work at a BERNINA shop in Abita Springs, Louisiana. For all of those who are wondering who the parrot is, his name is Petrie or Pete for short. He is a Sun Counre and has been my sidekick and sewing partner for 17 years now. For 12 of those 17 years, we have been sewing on a BERNINA.

Our internet journey started out with our YouTube channel, Sewing with Cody and Pete. We started this because I get tons of questions about quilting, sewing, machines, machine parts, you name it, I get that question. So, we started our channel to educate people about their BERNINA sewing and embroidery machines. Many of my customers are always looking for a good guide or a video to help them achieve things with their machines but aren't always able to come to my shop for assistance (especially thanks to COVID).

Also, if you don't personally know me, outside of sewing, I have a mini-farm, as my sister would like to call it. We have goats, chickens, rabbits, a dog (Lilo), and of course Pete. I even foster two rabbits. Outside of our growing fur family, I love to garden and have recently started a lifestyle change to veganism. Of course, Pete has always been a vegan, and I have finally decided to join him. So, this blog will feature a wild realm of things from our sewing to our farm life. 

I always like to say, "you can always learn something new." So come join Pete (and myself) on his learning adventures.
