Lazy Star Quilt Along Block 7

Lazy Angle Quilt-Along

Block 7

We’ve made it to block 7, this is one of my favorite blocks ints twist from block 6 but we’ve added more colors and components. We have a similar checker four patch block in the center but it’s using fabric A & B and the spikes on the star have two colors which gives it another dimension. So let's get started.

Step 1

Cut strip 2 ½” from background

Cut 4 squares that measure 2 ½”

Cut 4 large trapezoides that measure 2 ½” from background

Step 2

Cut 4 small trapezoides from Fabric A and B measuring 2 ½”

Step 3

From Fabric B cut 2 1 ½” squares, used in the center of this block part of the checkerboard

Step 4

Layout your pieces and then sew them together as pictured.

Press the pieces towards the dark side and trim to size (see pictures below)

Step 5

Now we are going to trimm our four square pieces (background sewn to Fabric B). Trim as pictured below front the 2 ½” markings.

Step 6

Sew small trapezoid pieces from Fabric A to the newly cut side of the small blocks also sew the checkerboard center square together as pictured.

Step 7

Now that the pieces are sewn together make sure you press and trim pieces to size “2 ½” square. Now construct block 7 as pictured below and make sure to check out the video.

You have just finished your block 7. I hope you enjoyed making this block with me. Now stay tuned for next week's block on the YouTube Channel “Sewing with Cody and Pete”
